The Story Behind Vision Chalet

Tori and I were encouraged to take a “vision casting retreat” several years ago.
At first, it sounded a little… out there.
But once someone explained it, we couldn’t shake the hope for a new way to dream and plan—together.

The desire for shared vision.
The feeling of walking in purpose.
The clarity that replaces confusion.

So, with the help of mentors we created a simple curriculum, packed our bags, and set out on a trip that would become one of the highlights of our marriage.

Over those few days, we:

Reflected on our past and what God had brought us through.
Dreamed about our future and what He was calling us into.
Listened for His voice together.
Reconnected like never before.

As we talked and prayed, a pattern began to form—things that made us us.

Hospitality.
Encouragement.
Creating spaces where people feel seen and refreshed.

Those threads led us to write our family mission statement—and from that, the idea for Vision Chalet was born.

We realized we wanted to design experiential short-term rentals that minister to people—places that blend purpose, rest, and beauty.

And it’s pretty special that the first experience we created is the very same one that started it all for us.
